Assalaamu 'alaikum
Dear brothers and sisters.
I hope you don't mind for a humble reminder, for me and for you.
Alhamdulillah. Smile and be happy, we're in Ramadhan at the moment.
Ramadhan is not just about fasting and taraweeh. One common mistaken view perceived by the public is to think of Ramadhan as an "Islamically-cultural" phenomenon. Meaning to say, for example, some people feel obliged to fast just because they see everyone else is fasting. As a result, we can see fasting muslims who do not refrain from sins (eg. abandoning prayer, dating, backbiting etc).
We can't blame them for this, maybe these things happened due to their background or environmental influence, and we -whom Allah has given the light and understanding on this matter- have the responsibility to remind ourselves and them as much as we could.
Ramadhan is actually a comprehensive training ground for muslims; from spiritual to physical strength, prayer rituals to daily activities, promoting ma'aruf to preventing munkar, and from 'ilm to a'mal. So let us not limit our view of Ramadhan as simply a month of fasting. It is far more than that.
This month is the perfect time to improve on our weaknesses (in practicing Islam), whether in terms of 'ibadah or mu'amalah. Shaytan are chained up at the moment, so generally it is easier to improve in Ramadhan, as long as we have a sincere heart. InsyaAllah.
Don't waste this golden opportunity to seek His Forgiveness and blessings. What if we were destined to die before experiencing the next Ramadhan? (May Allah prolong our lives in iman, 'ilm and 'amal.)
Try to achieve something Islamically-new about you after you completed this holy month. InsyaAllah. I wish everybody a fruitful Ramadhan!
Salam alaik.
