“Projek perubatan IIUM ini merupakan peluang gemilang bagi kulliyyah perubatan dan IIUM mengembangkan lagi perkhidmatan universiti dalam konteks internationalisasi,” katanya dalam kenyataan yang difaks ke Bernama di sini hari ini.

So the exam is getting near and the anxiety should build up soon.
Anyway here's a humble and quick reminder for me and all of us.
As we prepare for exams, never forget that we are actually -and always- in an exam already. Yeah, I believe all of us knew the fact that life itself is already a test, and for sure we can never know when will this test ends (death). Hopefully we will pass this test of life with "flying colours" when the time comes.
So while keeping up with our studies let us not forget Allah and obey Him always! Aim for success for both this world and the akhirah.
Never forget that it is Allah Who decides our fate, whether good or bad. So putting our trust on Him (tawakkal) is what every muslim should do when he or she puts up any effort. Never brag when we succeed, and never feel despair if we failed. Everything has wisdom behind it, especially when things really did not occur the way we've anticipated.
All the best for the finals, may Allah help us all. ^_^

Welcome to the Kulliyyah of Medicine’s website. By now you would have known a little bit about us and perhaps that has spurred you to want to know more or you may have just simply stumbled upon us and decided to delve further. Whatever the circumstances, please allow me to say a few words about our kulliyyah. By the way, kulliyyah is the Arabic word for faculty.
We are the 5th public medical school in the country and located in Kuantan, the capital of the largest state in peninsular Malaysia. The word public here means that we are fully financed by the government of Malaysia but the university is registered as a company to allow for unfettered use of English as the medium of communication. This is done to facilitate our status as an international learning institution, admitting Malaysians as well as non Malaysians. Other than that, we are like any other public medical schools in the country.
Our kulliyyah is part of a unique university as it is indeed the most international higher institution in Malaysia by students’ composition. We have admissions from more than 90 countries. The other unique feature is that we are deeply rooted in the paradigm of Tawheed. This is commonly portrayed with the acronym IIICE, I will explain later
The medical course here is a blend of the traditional and the integrated systems. There are both horizontal (between all body systems) integration to consolidate basic medical understanding and vertical (between clinical and preclinical) integration to expose the students to relevant aspects of clinical medicine at an earlier stage. We have about 115 highly qualified full time and about 50 part time staff for an annual intake of 120 students. There is a unique strand in all of them in that they are the ambassadors of the university to Islamize, Integrate and Internationalize to achieve Comprehensive Excellence. This is IIICE. The university’s motto succinctly summarizes this, “a garden of knowledge and virtue”.
The training to be a doctor is long and arduous, and students must achieve the minimum standard to function effectively as a houseman. In addition they must be able to self-learn through out their career. They must also be of the highest moral character and I am proud to say in IIUM, you will definitely get the right blend to mould you to become a good, ethical and competent doctor.
We have quite a few firsts, our advanced human patient stimulation laboratory is the first of its kind in the country and there are others. Although the kulliyyah is new compared to the existing ones, we have now started our clinical postgraduate training program. In our short existence, we have 2 patents and research is very active in both clinical and fundamental areas. In fact as a university we are preparing to become a research university. These are true reflections of our capability and potential, there are more to come.
If you think that you have got what it takes to study here, do apply and I am sure that you will have a fantastic and rewarding time.
May Allah swt helps all of us in this noble endeavour.
