To Group leaders,
Brothers - Ahmad Faizul, Saiful Firdaus, Tg Ahmad Fazdwan, Ahmad Syaify and Ahmad Ghaus
Assalam a’laykum wrt wbt,
My Dear Students and Future Doctors/Leaders of the Ummah
It has been almost a month since my briefing on the “Group Project” activity and I am now writing to the group leaders to find out the progress so far.
As mentioned earlier, leadership and management skills are better acquired through experiential learning (both individually and as a group) than through didactic lectures. The Kulliyah has decided that inculcation of leadership and management skills among YOU, the future doctors and leaders, could be done through organization of Group Project. We believe that through this activity, you would achieve the IIMP objectives for the final year which revolves around the development of proper professional etiquette, adab al tabib of doctors. The main themes for the Final year are as follows:
i. Physician formation
ii. Leadership skills
iii. Model leaders
iv. Management skills
v. Resource management
If I may suggest, the Final Year students could organize “Kulliyah Open Day”as a big event for the year, which you can always collaborate with the MSC, your juniors, Kulliyah members or even outsiders such as NGO (e.g. NADWAH and PPIM), government agencies, etc. (This is only my suggestion and you are free to disagree! I have no problem with that as long as you accomplish your task of organizing ONE project). The activities of the Open Day can be variety, such as blood donation, health campaign, circumcision, public forum, alumni forum, etc.
Another important event that you could organize exclusively for your own batch is what you may call “Awareness and Motivational Camp” which you can do it outside the Campus. It shall be like an Ibadah Camp or a time to reflect and evaluate your achievement so far. You may organize qiyamulalail and solat hajat for your coming Final Professional Examination.
So, my dear Future Doctors, I need to know your progress thus far. For that reason, I wish to see 3 representatives from each group (apart from the group leader) this Friday, 6thAugust 2010 at 3 pm at Level 3, Basic Clinical Skills Laboratory.
Thank you and wasallam.
MAY ALLAH BLESS US ALL, Ameen Ya Rabbal A’lamin
